More than twenty-five years ago, a small group of dedicated citizens in Seward, Nebraska established the Seward Foundation with a mission of providing financial assistance to city and school projects, making the difference between a good community and one that excels. The Foundation helps to fund projects that might not be completed without help.

Some of the projects funded by the Seward Foundation are shown below:

In September the Seward High School unveiled its new Video Marquee and Message Center to District patrons and travelers on Highway 15.  This marquee will assist the High School in promoting the many events and accomplishments of its student body throughout the academic year.  Funds for the purchase of the sign were provided entirely from donated dollars of the Seward High Booster Club and the Seward Foundation.  In addition, Nathan Reed from Reed Electric and Dave Wurdeman from Blue Valley Contracting provided in kind donations in the form of labor and materials.
